Nailpolishremover is so bad for the skin around my nails |
You can't really tell from the picture above that there is a crack from right to left. It nearly broke off. But I thought it would be too bad if I'd just cut my nail off and decided to reapair it. Wanna know how? Click!
At the picture above I've already repaired my nails. How I did it? With this:
This:
And this:
It's so easy to do! And it provides your nail from splitting off :). When you open the little box-like thingy you see this:
These are silky sticky patches, which you cut off and place it onto your broken nail. Like this:
First you have to measure it so you won't end up with a patch which is too big. I decided that I didn't want to cover up my entire nail. So, basically you just place it all over the crack. If there is some of the patch sticking out, just fold it over to the back of your nail and file it off. Easy like that!
After that you put a coat of the special nailpolish on top of the patch and then it becomes transparent like the first picture. When it is dried (it dries fast, it's a sort of one-secondglue) you can file the edges and a little bit above the patch to soften the part where the patch stops and your nail starts again. It should look like this:
Tadaaa and you're done. Finish it off with a coat of polish, and your nail is as it was before it broke!
Try not to break you nails.

PS. In The Netherlands you can buy this stuff wherever they sell Essence; Kruidvat and Trekpleister. Probably you can buy this too in Belgium and Germany, for the other countries: I don't know where to get it. Sorry. But any silk-like material will do! And sorry for the crappy pictures, but I'm taking pictures with my phone now.. :(
Wauw, dat is wel heel erg handig. Leuk gedaan.
