Today a NOTD. I love painting my nails, but lately I didn't have much time for that, unfortunately. But my naked nails were screaming for a manicure. I wanted something soft, not too extreme and since I bought "My Very First Knockwurst" by OPI a few months ago (and I haven't worn it yet, oops), I thought why not this one? So I went for a sweet pink look with an sparkly accent nail. Click for more information!
Well, since I didn't make a step-by-step tutorial-ish series of pictures, I'll just go for it and just show you guys how it looks! If you want to know how painted my nails and what products I used, you can keep on reading :-).
Tadaah. What do you think? I thing it looks cute and I really like the way it turned out! It's the first time I'm wearing this color and I loooooooove it!! I got this one together with "Don't Pretzel My Buttons" (both by OPI obviously) from the Germany Collection (2013). These two had 40% discount (dingding!), I got them from Sephora. They had this special offer because they were closing all their shops in the Netherlands, sadface :(, and to 'get rid of their products' there was a discount of 40% if you bought three products and I got these two along with a foundation by Too Faced. The Naked Palette was sold out immediatly -shocker-, so I couldn't get my hands on that beauty. Anyway, back to the nails!
First I applied a basecoat, just a regular one. Then I applied 2-4 thin coats of "My Very First Knockwurst". Why four?! you must wonder, well, sometimes I don't like how they look after two coats (too 'see-through'), so I apply one coat extra, but most of the time the 'fresh' nailpolish makes my already applied polish dissolve and move along with the brush which causes a gap without polish, so I'm obligated to apply one coat extra in order to make my polish look perfect :-). Yes, I'm a perfectionist.
On my accent nail I just put one layer of the pink. I could have gone with none, but that would make it turn out different, because there's no soft pink underneath it. Does that even make sense? Anyhow, the color I used for my accent nail is "Rosy Reflection" from the (I think) Reflection (Glitter?) Collection (2010) (which I'm holding in the picture above). Tried to find it out on the internet, but all I could find was that it was limited edition and hard to find. From which collection it was part of was hard to find too. Just saying.
Tell me what you think about it! And I hope you liked it :)
XOXO -Anna
